What is personal color analysis and what will I walk away with?

A Huephoric session is a guided conversation, not just a reveal. We start by understanding what you currently wear, what you love, and where color feels confusing or inconsistent for you. From there, the session moves through careful observation — you'll see in real time how different colors interact with your features, and more importantly, understand why.
Most color analysis gives you a palette and stops there. At Huephoric, if a favorite color isn't in your palette, we talk about how to work with it anyway — how to layer it, position it, or use it in ways that still feel aligned. You leave with clarity and a practical path forward, not a list that ignores your actual wardrobe.
That practical guidance and explanation is what no algorithm or self-assessment can replicate — online or otherwise.
Preparation
What should I do to prepare for my session?

Please arrive with a clean, bare face — no foundation, tinted moisturizer, sunscreen with color, or lip product. This ensures the most accurate color analysis since your natural skin tone is the primary reference point. A simple, neutral neckline works best since we'll be placing drapes close to your face. I'll bring everything else needed. All you need is a chair and an outlet, ideally near a window for natural light.
For the most accurate results, please avoid tanning or bronzing products for at least 2 weeks before your session — including self-tanner, bronzing lotions, and spray tans. A recent suntan can temporarily alter your skin's surface, adding warmth or redness that interferes with how color reflects against your features during the analysis.

Can I come with a tan?

Yes, and it's straightforward. After booking, you'll receive a preparation guide with instructions for submitting your photos and a short pre-session questionnaire about your current colors and preferences. I complete a detailed 25-step photo analysis before we meet, so your live session is focused entirely on your color reveal and how to use it. Good natural lighting matters most for your photos — the guide walks you through exactly what's needed.
Travel
Sessions are based out of Highland Park and cover the North Shore and surrounding areas. Travel is included for most nearby communities — a travel fee applies for locations further out. See the zone reference below for details, or reach out before booking if you're unsure about your area.
North Shore | Included → Highland Park, Lake Forest, Libertyville, Northbrook, Glenview, Wilmette, Evanston, and surrounding areas
Nearby Suburbs | $50 → Barrington, Arlington Heights, Park Ridge, Des Plaines, and surrounding areas
City of Chicago & Western Suburbs | $75 → Lincoln Park, Ravenswood, Oak Park, Elmhurst, Schaumburg and surrounding areas
Downtown Chicago | $100 → Loop, River North, West Loop, South Loop, and surrounding areas
Southwest Suburbs | $100 → Hinsdale, La Grange, Downers Grove, and surrounding areas

Where do you travel for sessions?
Booking
Sessions are non-refundable, but we understand that plans change. If you need to reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours' notice and your payment will apply toward a future session. If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to transfer your booking to a friend so your reserved time isn't lost.

What is your cancellation policy?
Yes, gift cards are available by request. Email hello@huephoriccolor.com with the session type you'd like to gift and I'll send a beautifully designed digital certificate within 24 hours. Gift cards can be applied toward any Huephoric session.

Do you offer gift cards?
Online availability opens 2 months out. Weekends slots tend to fill fast. If you have a specific date in mind, booking early is recommended. Don't see a time that works? Reach out directly — additional availability may be accommodated.
